Shippers: How to Save Money on Volume and Large Partials

Published: January 9, 2020 | Author: Rose Godwin | Comments: No Comments

Route Transportation has found a real niche in the volume/large partials segment. We define large partials (also referred to as volume partials) as 4 – 16 skids or any shipment over 5,000 lbs.

Common carriers excel at LTL shipments of 1 – 3 pallets. This is because they are looking for as many small shipments as possible to fill their truck. When it comes to the higher number of skids, shippers may have to pay for an entire truckload to ship only 24ft.

This is where Route comes in. We use a LTR (Load-to-Ride) system, which means that the shipper only pays for the space they need. This can save hundreds of dollars on every load! Plus, LTR delivers just as quickly as a dedicated truck.
